Lantau Island March 28, 2013
Going to Lantau Island by cable car to visit the Tian Tan Buddha and Po Lin Monastery - 520 meters above sea level.
Fishing in low water
We got lucky that we’ve arrived safely. We had to go through thick fog for few minutes but were saved from heavy wind and rain which started like 15 minutes after our arrival.
Walking through the small village - nice restaurants and shops to visit. The main road leads directly to the buddha.
Some old cable cars from all over the world are on display
Tian Tan Buddha - about 268 steps to go up
With its 34 meters height (250 tones), it is the highest bronze sitting buddha in the world.
