started my day with a swim in the pool of my friends
Our first trip further out of San Jose goes to the Parque Nacional Volcan Poas where we wanna see the crater. On our way up we had great views of San Pedro and San Jose etc.We also passed coffee plantations and villages.
Yes, Costa Rica also has Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Outback etc.

Crater Principal, 2574 meter within the Poás Volcano National Park - unfortunately, there was no good view to see the crater which holds still some water
Miguel and I enjoying the “view” of the crater
From the crater we walked through the rain forest to the lagoon
Also the lagoon was covered by fog. There is also no way to get direct to the lagoon. You can only enjoy the view from a distance.
on our way back down
Saw a couple of horses standing next to the street - not tied up!
stopped at a village to grab lunch
Ordered a Costa Rican dish called casado. It comes with meat or fish and rice, beans, salad, baked banana and vigoron.
I saw some steal boxes like this one in front of a house. They use it to put their garbage bags in it to be picked up. I guess it more
protected like this from the dogs wandering around.
My host’s dog Maximilian, short Max!
We went shopping, to the movies to see the new Star Trek movie and then went to the one and only Starbucks in Costa Rica
the day started nicely and ended great

On our way we stopped at an attraction. Before crossing the bridge by car, we went there by foot to watch the crocodiles.
