tour guides like to say that Mahatma Ghandi signed the Independency Treaty at this hotel, but I cannot find anything on the internet about it.

Mohandas Karamchand Ghandi or Mahatma Ghandi, born October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, Bombay, died on January 30, 1948 in New Delhi by assassination (3 bullets into the chest). He was buried in Rajghat, New Delhi (see index  for grave). Ghandi was a prominent figure of Indian independence  movement. He leaves 4 children, Devdas, Harilal, Manilal and Ramdas.
