Es war das Zuhause von “Fat Man” Ron Chavez. Der 60 Jahre alte Club wurde missbilligt und dann von der Stadt Santa Rosa zerstoert.
It was the home of “Fat Man” Ron Chavez. The 60 year old club was condemned and demolished by the City of Santa Rosa.

Die Strasse fuehrt dann wieder zur I 40 bei Exit 273.  The street leads back to I-40, Exit 273.

Vegas Junction, 14.37 Uhr, Exit 256.

Fahre noerdlich auf 84, pre 1937 Route 66. Fahre durch La Loma. An der Kreuzung zur 25 Santa Fe Trail tanke ich, 15.19 Uhr bei Philips 66, $ 4.099, $ 43.20, 10.538 Galonen. Fahre nun hier auf Santa Fe Trail. Um 15.43 komme ich in ein Unwetter. Hinterm Berg vor mir sehe ich Blitze. Die Wolken werden immer dunkler.
Driving North on 84, pre 1937 Route 66. Driving through La Loma. At the intersection to 25 Santa Fe Trail I need to get some gas at Philips 66, $ 4,099, $ 43,20, 10,538 gallons. Driving on Santa Fe Trail. The weather is getting worst, 3.43 pm.

Um 15.55 Uhr faengt es dann auch maechtig an zu regnen, F 73. Rowe, 16.04 Uhr. Fahre weiter Richtung Pecos, um bald nach einem Motel Ausschau zu halten. Bei dem Unwetter kann ich leider den Pecos National Historic Park nicht besuchen. Ich fahre weiter auf der 50, die nordwestlich weitergeht etwas entlang der 25. Bei Exit 299 fahre ich dann nun endlich auf die 25 ab, 16.23 Uhr,  um schneller voranzukommen. Die 25 ist auch die Historic Route 66. Komme dann in Santa Fe an und nehme ein Zimmer in Kings Court Inn (unten einige Fotos von dem Hotel) an der Route 66. Hier gibt es direkt neben dem Zimmer einen Carport. Ich entscheide mich, noch eine weitere Nacht hier zu bleiben.
At 3.55 pm it is starting to rain very hard, F 73. Rowe, 4.04 pm. Driving further towards Pecos to look out for a motel for the night. Sadly to say, I cannot visit Pecos National Historic Park. I am driving on 50 which goes north-west along 25. This is also the Historic Route 66. Arriving in Santa Fe and getting a room at Kings Court at Route 66 (some pics shown below). They have carports next to the rooms.  I am deciding to stay another night in Santa Fe.

Der “Santa Fe Loop”: Route 1926-1937 welche noerdlich verlaeuft  westlich von Santa Rosa Richtung Santa Fe  Highway 84 folgend. Dann verlaeuft sie wieder zurueck suedlich Richtung Albuquerque nach Los Lunas bevor sie in die 1938-1950’s Route bei Correo verlaeuft.
The “Santa Fe Loop”: Route 1926-1937 which goes north just west of Santa Rosa towards Santa Fe following Highway 84. Then it leads back south towards Albuquerque to Los Lunas just before she goes into 1938-1950’s Route at Correo.

Somit endet der Santa Fe Loop innerhalb der Stadt Sante Fe. The Santa Fe Loop ends now within the town Santa Fe.

Nach meinem Sidetrip zu den Kasha Katuwe Tent Rocks fahre ich die gleiche Strecke vorerst zurueck, die 22 Sued. Dann fuhr ich auf die 88 West durch die indianischen Viertel wie Santo Domingo Pueblo. Die 84 wurde allerdings zur Gravel Road. Hier liefen mir ueberraschenderweise 2 Pferde und ein Fohlen ueber die Strasse.
Bald wollte ich die anstrengende Gravel Road nicht mehr befahren. Ich wollte schon zurueckfahren, suchte aber Hilfe von meinem TomTom auf. Ich musste nur noch ein paar Meilen fahren, um zur 25 zu kommen, San Felipe, 84 auf Hagen Road, 11.07 Uhr.
Abfahrt Exit 248, Algodones, 11.17 Uhr.
Fahrt auf El Camino Real (313)/ Pan American Central Highway.

After my sidetrip to Kasha Katuwe Tent Rock, I take the same route back, 22 South. Driving then on 88 West through a native american area called Santo Domingo Pueblo. 84 turns into a gravel road.
Soon I am fed up with the gravel road. I was so close to turn around to look for another way, but my GPS showed that the gravel road will end in a few miles which leads then to 25, Sen Felipe, 84 on Hagen Road, 11.07 am.

Fahre dann bald wieder auf die 25 ab nach ALBUQUERQUE. Ich komme dort um 11.33 Uhr an.
Ich fahre auf die 40 wie mir die Schilder (auf 40, Exit 157 A) den Weg zum historischen Viertel zeigen. Auf der Central Ave. finde ich dann ein Zimmer in der Econo Lodge fuer ca. $ 56. Das Internet funktioniert hier nur ab und an. Ich kann allerdings von hier aus gut zu Fuss zur Stadt gelangen was ich dann auch nach dem check-in im Hotel tue.
Driving on 25 towards Albuquerque where I arrive at 11.33 am.
I am following the signs (on 40, exit 157 A) to the historical area. I am checking in at Econo Lodge, Central Ave., for $ 56. The internet is not working properly, but that is fine as this hotel is close to the center.
