San Diego habe ich in 2007 fuer knappe 2 Tage besucht und in 2009 fuer knappe 4.

Ich besuchte Old Town, Gaslamp Quarter, Zoo, Sea World, Mission Beach, Coronado Island sowie Point Loma (letzters beim unguten Wetter). San Diego befindet sich weit suedlich in Kalifornien gute 2 Stunden Autofahrt von Los Angeles. Von San Diego aus ist eine Fahrt bis direkt zur Grenze an Tijuana mit der Metro moeglich. Bevor man die Grenze ueberschreitet, sollte man sicherstellen, dass man seinen Pass dabei hat indem sich der sog. “Landezettel”, den man auf den Weg in die Staaten im Flugzeug erhaelt und aussfuellen muss, dabei hat. Ohne diesen ist eine Wiedereinreise von Tijuana in die USA nicht so einfach. Man sollte dann ruhig bleiben, hoeflich und die Grenzpolizei ihre Arbeit machen lassen. Ein schlechter Kommentar und man hat grosse Probleme. Ein falscher Schritt und sie bruellen einen an oder stuerzen sich mit mehreren auf einen.

I have visited San Diego in 2007 for only 2 day and in 2009 for just 4. I have seen Old Town, Gaslamp Quarter, the Zoo, Sea World, Mission Beach, Coronado Island and Point Loma.
San Diego is quite in the South of California, about 2 hours drive from Los Angeles when no heavy traffic. You can take the metro in San Diego to get to the border of Tijuana. Keep in mind to have your papers together. If you do not have the landing card (the white one), you will get stuck in Mexico! There will be then a special line for people “with troubles”. Waiting time propbably another 2 hours. Be nice, do not joke around as the boarder police is like a drill soldier. One wrong move, you will get yell at.

Belmont Park

Im Belmont Park befindet sich noch der letzte hoelzernde Rollercoaster, andere div. Rides, ein Karussell, Shops, etwas Fast Food und eine Spielhalle.
Belmont Park has the last standing wooden rollercoaster, some other rides, a merry-go-round, shops, fast food and a game house.

“Giant Dipper Rollercoaster” ist eines von zwei Originalen. Es wurde 1925 gebaut und besteht nur aus Holz.
The “Giant Dipper Rollercoaster” is one of two originals. It was built in 1925 and is made only with wood.

San Diego Old Town

Gut erreichbar mit der Metro sowie Bus; nur wenige Meter zum Eingang Old Towns.
Old Town is easily reachable by metro and bus; from the station it is only a few feet to the entrance of Old Town.
