Bel Air wurde als Community in 1923 von Alphonzo E. Bell gegruendet. Bel Air gehoert zu dem sog. "Platinum Triangle" was bedeutet, dass 3 Orte sich zu einer Community zusammengetan haben wie Bel Air, Beverly Hills und Holmby Hills. Sie ist ca. 17 Meilen westlich von LA Downtown und grenzt an UCLA entlang dem Sunset Blvd. Hier ist auch der Bel Air Country Club und Hotel Bel Air vorzufinden.

The Witch House

Das Haus wurde 1921 für diverse Filme fuer die Culver Studios gebaut. Es ist legendaer. Es ist allerdings seit einer Weile in Privatbesitz und wird momentan renoviert (2009). Die Besitzer wollen es in eine Art „Cottage“ Stil umbauen. Sie sollen fuer das Hexenhaus ca. 1 Million Dollar gezahlt haben. Die Renovierungsarbeiten wurden wohl in 2010 beendet. Unten die aktuellsten Fotos. The house was built in 1921 by the Culver Studios. It is legendary. Since a while, it is privately owned. The new owner want to have it in a Cottage Style. It is said that they paid about one million dollar for the house. The renovations ended in 2010. They added the backyard pool and the little wall, garden and bridge for the front.

Filmlocation von „Pretty Woman“. Auch hier koennte man beim Essen auf Stars treffen (vor allem Bruce Willis, da seine Tochter in einem Geschaeft am Rodeo Drive taetig ist). Film location of “Pretty Woman”. You could see some stars at lunch here (especially Bruce Willis who is coming here quite often with family as his daughter works close by).
Rodeo Drive
Parkmoeglichkeit: Meter Parking (Parkuhren) oder im Parkhaus. Das kleine Parkhaus befindet sich auf der rechten Seite (Karte). You can park all around Rode Drive. Try also the small parking area at the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and N. Rodeo Drive (map).
Gegenueber vom Hotel ist der weltberuehmte Rodeo Drive.

In diesem Center befinden sich mehrere Shops und Restaurants. Hier befand sich urspruenglich das Hard Rock Cafe. Das “Grand Lux Cafe” was zur Cheesecake Factory gehoert, ist m.E. empfehlenswert (zu erreichen von Aussen am Beverly Center an S. San Vicente).
