“Union Station”, 800 North Alameda Street. Movie Location

Gegenueber dem Haupteingang der Union Station befindet sich auf der anderen Strassenseite das “El Pueblo”, der “Geburtsort” Los Angeles.
Opposite on the other street side of the main entrance of the Union Station is the birthplace Los Angeles “El Pueblo”.

Felipe de Neve (1728-84) suchte sich in der Naehe des Flusses Porciuncula einen Platz aus wo er die Stadt El Pueblo de la Reina de Los Angeles in 1781 gruendete. El Pueblo ist noch immer mexikanisch angehaucht. Es gibt u.a. folgendes zu besichtigen:
Avila Adobe (Aeltestes Haus), El Pueblo Gallery, Firehouse, Chinese American Museum, Markt.

Felipe de Neve (1728-84) decided to form a city in 1781 near the river Porciuncula which he named El Pueblo de la Reina de Los Angeles.
This part is still mexican. You can stroll through El Pueblo’s market buying mexican stuff and grab some food. You can visit: Avila Adobe the oldest adobe in LA, El Pueblo Gallery, the Firehouse, Chinese American Museum, the market.

Es gibt eine kostenlose Tour dieses Viertels. Bei Interesse sich bitte melden bei "Las Angelitas del Pueblo" welches neben der Feuerwehr (auch zu besichtigen) befindet. Dienstags bis samstags 10 bis 11 Uhr und 12 Uhr mittags.
They offer a tour of El Pueblo free of charge. If interested, please contact “Las Angelitas del Pueblo” which is located next to the Firehouse. Tours are offered tuesday till saturday from 10 am till 11 am and then again at 12 pm.

Avila Adobe, das aelteste Haus in LA gebaut in 1818 von Don Francisco Avila. Es wurde vom "American Headquarter" in 1847 besetzt und in 1971 durch ein Erdbeben beschaedigt. Es wurde daraufhin restoriert und steht heute zur Besichtigung an mittwochs bis sonntags von 10 bis 15 Uhr.
Vom Garten aus hat man einen guten Blick auf "Union Station".
This is the oldest adobe house in Los Angeles which was built in 1818 by Don Francisco Avila. It was occupied by “American Headquarter” in 1847 and badly damaged by earthquake in 1871. It was then restored and today it is open to the public wednesday till sunday 10am-3pm.
You also have a good view of the Union Station from the Adobe’s garden.

Walking to the Plaza (Pavillion)and Firehouse.

Just “behind” the pavillion you will see the Firehouse.

      "Plaza Firehouse" welches den Feuerwehrleuten von damals, heute und der Zukunft gewidmet ist, die               seit 1871 mit ihrem Mut und Hingabe das Leben und das Eigentum der Buerger von Los Angeles schaetzen..
      This firehouse is in honor to the firemen of the past, present and the future who served the
      community of Los Angeles with their courage and with their lifes since 1871.

An der Wand gibt es viele Helme aus diversen Jahrzehnten und Viertel sowie alte Fotos. Ein Foto vom letzten Feuerwehrpferd ist zu sehen "Blackie" (1902-1939). Auf dem Bild sieht man ein stolzes schwarzes Pferd auf einer Weide.
Walk in and have a look around. There are old helmets on display and pictures and everything else of a firehouse devices. There is also a picture of the last firehorse called “Blackie” (1902-1939).
