Stage 19 is the smallest studio at Paramount
Studio for Animation
Studio 25 “Cheers” and “Friends”. Today they were filming in front of it.
“Lucile Ball’s Day Care Center” behind this fence. Have a look at the floor here in front in the picture, in the right corner. There is a story here... But first. Lucy had small problems with her employees. Her --as I can recall-- main writer complaint about not spendng much time with her children, Lucy started the day care center in order not to lose her writer. But good publicity was also involved. Lucy did not spend much time with her own kids. But she managed to fool the public with pictures and video interviews showing her with her kids playing in “her garden in Beverly Hills”. But it was not her home. She had let built a garden like hers in Beverly Hills and even got the building look like her home. She was indeed a smart, but also mad woman I would say I have heard from a dear friend of mine who saw Lucy quite often in the Country Club that she was not really in the good mood since her divorce
These are the prints of the hands and shoes of Ted Danson and Woody Harelson from the TV Show “Cheers”. Both made a bet which they lost. So they run out of the studio nude, but with shoes and found this fresh cement.
Switching real quick to “I love Lucy Square” which can be seen from the streets just across of the parking visitors to the Paramount are using.
This is where Howard Hughes went nuts and locked himself in (best known movie about him “The Aviator” with Leo DiCaprio)
Our guide explaining us something about Stage 28. Here they are taping a TV Show for the younger audience. It looks like a condominium from inside with pool area. It looks very real. They even forgot to remove the script so that we were able to have a fast peek :=)
movie people have a great sense of humor
New TV Show “Community” with Chevy Chase. They were filming around the Studios today. We got a chance to see it.
New York
They can remove the square panel to put a tree in it to change the view of streets.
A scene from the Godfather. This is where Al Pacino got his gun from.
School for the movie “Clueless” and appartment No 4. in “Desperate Housewives”
Here again an example of a street with not real trees
This back passage is highly used in vampiere movies and chases.
“Seinfeld” house. This is also from a scene where Seinfeld threw a loaf of bread up to the 3rd floor
This is a screen used as a sky. In front of it is the parking lot which will be turned into a lake or sea without of course the cars in.
The white pipes here in the pictures are used to pump water into the basin/parking lot.
The theatre in which they also show a new movie to the directors, producers etc. and having interviews with e.g. the director, actors of the movie. I went to see with producers the movie “Up in the air” with George Clooney. The director Ramis was there and 4 of the main actors, but not George Clooney. But maybe he was there and hiding as they have a special private room in the theatre. It is used for the upscaled actors/directors.
our future German actress. She is already taking acting classes in Berlin :=) Go girl!!!
Left of the Paramount theatre is the famous“Forrest Gump” bench. The story behind it: The original place was a bit further down. But it was standing in front of an employee’s office who got so annoyed by the tourists taking pics of the bench that one evening when he stayed longer he simply dragged the bench all the way close to the theatre. Sometimes you just have to take some things in your own hands :=) The other story about the bench and Tom Hanks: When Tom Hanks was filming the movie “Charlie Wilson’s war” in 2007, he started to make fun of the tourists. He got dressed like Forrest Gump again and sat down on this bench with a box of chocolate and offered it whenever a tourist sat next to him. Though he was also talking like Forrest, people did not realize that it was the real Tom Hanks. Hanks is known for his jokes...
